Obituary for Robert L. Staffier
Robert L. Staffier, 86, beloved husband of Mary (Barron) Staffier, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 9, 2022.
Born August 12, 1935, Bob was the son of the late Anthony and Jennie (Brigulio) Staffier, and brother of the late Eileen Zawaski. He was raised in East Boston before moving to Billerica, where he lived for over 50 years.
Bob graduated from Boston College and was employed as an Accountant at Polaroid Corporation for 35 years. He served as the Treasurer of the Billerica Hockey Association and as coach of the Billerica girls hockey team for over 30 years. He loved sharing unique dining experiences with family and friends as well as traveling to Italy. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife and children and taking his grandchildren on surprise impromptu adventures.
Bob was a devoted father to his four children: Maureen Severo and husband Tom of Westford, Janet Hogan and husband Brian of Westford, Susan Mastrullo and husband Michael of Billerica, and Robert Staffier Jr. of Charlestown. He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Tommy Severo; Stephen Severo, his wife Yuliya, Alessandra Mastrullo, Elaine (Severo) Trechok, her husband Jon, Michela Mastrullo, and his great grandchildren Jace Trechok and Lucy Severo.
Funeral from the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica on Thursday, June 16th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, June 15th from 4 to 7 PM at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s memory to one of his favorite charities, Boys Town, www.boystown.org or to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
