BILLERICA – Rita Lillian (Rais) Mitchell, age 86, beloved wife of the late Kenneth P. Mitchell , died Thursday at the Tippet Hospice House in Needham.
She was born in Somerville, April 20, 1930 the daughter of the late Antonio and Melina E. (Marini) Rais and has been a Billerica resident since 1970.
Mrs. Mitchell will be remembered for her love of spending time with her family and as being a fabulous cook.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Kenneth Mitchell and his partner Lee Ellenberger of W. Roxbury, Michael Mitchell and his wife Betsy of Dorchester, John Mitchell and his wife Lisa of Rocky Hill, CT, Rita Stewart and her husband Brett of Austin, TX, Sandra Mitchell of Brookline and Linda Mitchell of Costa Mesa, CA; her grandchildren, Kristin, Julie, Kelvin, Amanda, Compton, Sarah, Leigh, and Matthew; her great-granddaughter Rylie, as well as her brother Frank Rais and his wife Cathy.

Funeral Tuesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4 – 7 p.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
