Richard Monti, age 89, beloved husband of the late Josephine F. (Gardina) Monti died Friday at Sunny Acres Nursing Home after a period of declining health.
He was born in Cambridge, December 15, 1933 a son of the late Ricardo and Linda (Sodi) Monti and lived in Somerville and Revere before moving to Billerica 19 years ago.
Mr Monti was a member of the carpenters’ union for over 60 years; many of those years for the Martin-Manzelli Corp. His knowledge as a woodworker helped family with many home improvement projects.
He is survived by one daughter, Deborah Rancatore and her husband John of Billerica; two sons, Ricardo Monti of FL and Christopher Monti and his wife Heather of Tyngsboro; six grandchildren, Sarina and her husband Paul, Justin and his fiancé Kami and her children Sophia, Lilly, and Liam, DeAnna and her husband Joseph, Robby, Madalyn and Nicholas as well as six great-grandchildren, Lucille, Evelyn, Sergio, Stella, Amelia and Vincent.
A Graveside Service will be held June 12th at Holy Cross Cemetery, 175 Broadway, Malden MA at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.sancer.org or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org
