Obituary for Richard L. Canfield
LOWELL– Richard L. Canfield, age 67, died peacefully Monday at their home after a brief battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving fiancé Brenda Dukeshire and his family. He was born in Melrose Nov. 9, 1946, a son of the late Richard B. and Florence V. (Paine) Canfield and was a longtime Billerica resident prior to moving to Lowell 14 years ago. Mr. Canfield was a graduate of Saugus High School class of 1964. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a truck driver for Beacon, Consolidated Freight and more recently for CCX . Besides his fiancé Brenda ' his love' he is survived by three sons, Mark Canfield and his wife Donna of Billerica, Anthony Logiudice and his wife Esther of TX and John Canfield and his wife Barbie of Billerica; three daughters, Denise Duprez and her husband Tim of Billerica, Sheryl Liggiero and her husband Richard of Tewksbury and Jennifer Dukeshire and her partner Walter Torres of Lowell; one brother, Bobby Canfield and his wife Kim of Woburn; one sister, Jean Crane and her husband Stephen of Beverly; Brother in law Victor Bomil, Peter Bomil, Steve Bomil and his wife Diane. Sister in law Peggy Dumais and her husband Tommy. 16 grandchildren, Sheri, Marissa, Nicole, Jessica, Ryan, Megan, Tommy, Justin, Dominic, Mark Anthony, Nathan, Kirsten, Hayden, Kaylene, Danny and Javien as well as his loving nieces, nephews, cousins and his dear friends Troy and Linda Fields. He was also the father of the late Richard E. Canfield and former husband of Dolores Canfield. He was well loved among his friends at the Friendly Beaver Campground in New Boston, NH and was an avid Patriots and Bruins fan. Richie was always the first to lend a hand to anyone who needed one. CANFIELD – Of Lowell, formerly of Billerica, June 23, Richard L. Canfield. Visiting hours will be held Friday June 27th at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 3- 6 p.m. Immediately followed by a prayer service at 6:15pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. All other services will be held privately and at the convenience of his family.
