Obituary for Richard J. Silveria

Richard J. Silveria, age 92, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Benchmark at Billerica Crossings.

Born on November 17, 1932, Richard was a son of the late John and Mary (Coit) Silveria.

Richard and his late wife, Margaret, were avid travelers, who enjoyed RVing and loved going to national parks, particularly Acadia National Park in Maine. Acadia was an annual trip for many years, which they enjoyed with children and grandchildren. Richard was an excellent cook and would cook his famous Da McMuffins on camping trips and always prepared excellent meals for his six children, their spouses, grandchildren and friends of the family. Richard is a veteran of the US Navy, was a great family man, and a man with a strong Catholic faith. He also had a tremendous work ethic. He worked most of his work life in the food service industry, mainly as the Assistant Manager of the Harvard Faculty Club and was fully dedicated to fully supporting his large family. He would work tirelessly to support his family, often working multiple jobs, all while meticulously maintaining his home, and blessing the family with his playful personality and great sense of humor.

Richard is survived by his six children, Karen Quirbach and her husband Mark of Dunstable, Kathleen Sears and her husband John of Billerica, Richard Silveria and his wife Gail of Mashpee, Christine Davis and her husband Matthew of Falmouth, Maureen Strauss and her husband Robert of Dunstable and Eileen Sousa and her husband Gary of Chelmsford; as well as 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Richard is predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Margaret C. (Conroy) Silveria, and his sister, Barbara Whidden.
