Obituary for Richard J. Donnelly
Richard J. Donnelly Loving Father, Brother, and Friend Pelham, NH- Richard J. Donnelly, age 61, loving father, died Friday September 13, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC after injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born in Woburn, MA on August 8, 1952 a son of the late Joseph and Alice (Johnston) Donnelly, raised in Billerica, before moving to Methuen where he raised his family. Mr. Donnelly was employed as a Teacher at the Locke Middle School in Billerica where he taught math and computers for more than 36 years until his retirement in 2012 to Little Island Pond in Pelham, NH. He was also a well known and respected coach for the Billerica High School Basketball and Football teams. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Union and a Fitchburg State Alumni. He is survived by two loving daughters and their husbands, Taryn Matatall and her husband Christopher of Haverhill, Kierstyn DeWolfe and her husband, Paul of San Antonio, TX, a brother Joseph W. Donnelly and his wife, Jamie of Billerica, three sisters, Frances J. Duby of Tewksbury, Christine Piche and her husband Bruce of Sandown, NH, and Joelle Donnelly of Lowell, a nephew Brian Duby, a niece, Alissa Duby, several grand nieces and nephews among them, Brian Jr., Daniel, McKayla, Matty, and Paige Duby, John, Amanda and Emily Tierney. Mr. Donnelly is also survived by his beloved girlfriend, Luanne Diodati of Salem, NH and his former wife, Carolyn Williams of Merrimack, MA as well as several close family friends. DONNELLY- Of Pelham, NH, Sept. 13, 2013, Richard J. Donnelly. A Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd. Billerica from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
