Centerville - Richard C Plummer, 89, died peacefully, January 11, 2017, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born April 5, 1927, Medford, MA, Richard was the loving son of the late Thomas E and Mildred Plummer, Malden, MA.
After a brief time in the Catholic Seminary Dick worked for many years.
Mr. Plummer proudly served his country as an interpreter in WWII.
Richard married his loving wife Helen T English Plummer, on September 21, 1952, in Arlington, MA. Helen survives him at home.
A devoted, loving husband, father, and grandfather, Richard is survived by his daughters Donna Lesinski of Marstons Mills, MA, Cheryl Ross and her husband Robert of Red Hook, NY, Debra Plummer of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, and Denise Capone and her husband Philip Jr. of Billerica, MA, Grandchildren: Nicole Johnson, Richard Ross, Brittany Roeder, Michael Ross, Stephanie Capone and Austin Capone, great grandchildren Brady and Kendall Johnson, and Baby Roeder. He is also survived by his sister Dolores Carney, Stoneham, MA, sisters and brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas E Plummer.
Visiting hours will be held Monday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Interment will be held Tuesday in the Massachusetts National Veterans Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne at 2 p.m. Please meet at the gate no later than 1:40 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Elder Services of Cape Cod or to the Hospice of Cape Cod.
