Obituary for Richard W. Melanson
Richard (Dick) W. Melanson, 77, of Billerica passed away early Friday morning, November 27th, at the Care One in Lexington after a lengthy illness.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife Jeanne (Card) Melanson, his nieces and nephews, Ray Garrett, Meredith Stanley, Kim Gullage, Peter Card and Allison Hill, his in-laws Richard Card, Nancy Gardner and Debbie Hill, and his great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Arthur and Eleanor (Morgan) Melanson, his sister Barbara Garrett and his nephews David Gardner and Jay Garrett.
Richard was born on February 27th, 1943. He was raised in Malden. He married the love of his life, Jeanne, and have been happily married for 46 years. He lived in Malden and Cambridge before moving to Billerica 25 years ago.
For many years Richard worked for Gilbert Realty as an apartment condo manager. More recently he drove a special-needs van for Christianson Bus Company in Billerica.
Richard loved life, he loved spending time with family and friends, he was always the life of the party with his infectious laugh. Some of his happiest memories were his vacations with his wife, his days at their camp in NH, and the many years he played Santa for the children. He lived a great life. If you ever met him, you’d never forget him! He was a loyal, devoted, kind, loving and fun husband, son, brother, Uncle and friend. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
