
Obituary for Richard Blinn
Richard Blinn – Age 94, husband of Shirley I. (Martin) Blinn died Saturday, November 24 at the Memory Care of Naples in Naples, FL.
He was born in Stoneham, May 31, 1924, a son of the late Herbert and Ethel (Jackson) Blinn and was raised in Stoneham and moved to Billerica in 1960. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.
Mr. Blinn was the founder of the Whiffle Tree Country Store in Billerica which he opened in 1969 and operated it until his son Stephen took over in 1982. He was also the founder and owner of the Old Indian Springs Water Company at the Whiffle Tree.
He enjoyed vacationing with his family at their home in Pemaquid Point in Bristol, ME and became a resident of Naples, FL. He was an avid boater and took his boat from Maine to Florida for many years until he was in his early 80s. He also became a Glider pilot when he was in his 70s. He enjoyed playing golf, working with wood, and driving his convertible cars.
Mr. Blinn is survived by his sons, Stephen Blinn and his wife Susan of Billerica and Richard Blinn and his wife Angela of Harvard. He is also survived by six grandchildren Katelyn Garrido of Littleton, Jonathan Blinn of Tewksbury, Mark Blinn of Norwalk, CT, Rachael Dill of Littleton, Riana Nazzaro of Harvard, Maggie Shannon of N. Reading and 10 great grandchildren.
BLINN – Of Billerica and Naples , FL , Nov. 24, Richard Blinn, A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 8 at the Fox Hill Cemetery , 130 Andover Rd. , Billerica at 11:30 a.m. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following.
