Reginald F. Carpenter Jr. - age 86, died peacefully Friday, April 11, at the Andover Forest Post Acute Center with his family by his side.
He was born in Boston on December 27, 1938, a son of the late Reginald F and Marjorie (Surdam) Carpenter. He was raised in Boston, entered the Army Reserves and lived in Billerica then moving to Fitchburg where he resided for 40 years.
Reginald was employed in the maintenance department for the City of Fitchburg prior to his retirement.
He is survived by his daughter Jean Barowski and her husband Dennis of Tyngsboro MA; his sons Gary Carpenter of Tampa Fl and Scott Carpenter of Pheonix AZ; his sister Marjorie Copp and her husband Fredrick of Plaistow NH ; Sharon Lopez and her husband Edward of Fitchburg MA.His six grand children Janelle McSwiggan and her husband James of Chichester NH, Melissa Barowski of Tyngsboro MA, Monique Barowski of Dracut MA , Renee Carpenter and Brian Carpenter; Jessica Marquis and husband Zach of Fitchburg MA. He also is survived by his three great grandchildren Khaya Barowski, Jordyn Barowski and Nevaeh Barowski. He was a long time companion of the late Jeannette Gallagher of Fitchburg MA.
A private graveside service will be held at the Fox Hill Cemetery in Billerica MA.
