Obituary for Ralph R. Bacon
BILLERICA – Ralph R. Bacon, age 96, beloved husband of the late Bessie M. (Edmonds) Bacon, who died in 2007 with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage, died Thursday at the Palm Center in Chelmsford after a brief illness.
He was born in Chardon, OH April 16, 1920 a son of the late John and Rowena (Schmidt) Bacon and has lived in Billerica since 1950.
Mr. Bacon served in the US Army from 1941 – 1944 attaining the rank of Sergeant, was a graduate of the University of Michigan in 1950, Northeastern University in 1960 and held masters degrees in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics and Math.
He worked for Raytheon from 1950 -58, National Radio Corp from 1958 -71 and was the Town Engineer for the Town of Billerica from 1972 until his retirement in 1990.
Mr. Bacon is survived by three sons, Ralph Bacon of Nottingham, NH, Dennis Bacon of Westfield, MA and Wayne Bacon of Billerica; one daughter, Judy Bailey of Alfred Station, NY; one brother, John Bacon of MI; one sister Ann Michileski of MI as well as 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Harold Bacon and brother of the late Rowena Rice.

Funeral Tuesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. A Graveside Service will be held at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
