Ralph L. Wheeler Jr., age 74, died Monday, February 13, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital – Saints Campus after a period of declining health.
He was born in Cambridge, May 31, 1948 a son of the late Ralph L Sr. and Catherine M. (Yore) Wheeler and was a longtime Billerica resident before moving to North Chelmsford over 20 years ago.
Ralph proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War with the 1st Calvary Division receiving a Bronze Star. Following his service he began his career in Sales working for Gerber Baby Product and Children’s Wear.
He is survived by his twin sister, Maureen Powers and her husband James of Billerica. His niece Jennifer McKiernan and her husband Michael and nephew James Powers Jr. and his wife Benna, great niece and nephews Caitlyn, Michael and Grayson Powers, as well as many friends and relatives.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, February 20 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 1 – 4 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish in St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
