Obituary for Ralph Harold Eaton
Harold Eaton, 89, died peacefully on Saturday, August 31. He was at home with his family by his side. Harold was pre-deceased by his wife, Alice with whom he shared 65 devoted years of marriage. Together they raised five children and watched their family grow to include 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He spent a great deal of his time with his family, and enjoyed many years of camping and vacationing with them. He was a loyal friend or relative to all who knew him. He had a quick wit and loved to share stories of his youthful adventures. Harold was born in Boston on August 23, 1924. He lived in Dorchester before making his home in Billerica for the past 61 years. Harold served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945. He spent several years in the South Pacific Islands with the Navy Seabees and maintained strong ties with his veteran brethren. He is survived by his children, Paul Eaton and his wife Denise of Lowell; Michael Eaton and his longtime companion Tina of Kings Mountain, NC; his daughter Carol Rynkowski and her husband William of Marblehead; Daniel Eaton and his wife Darlene of Belmont, NH; and Gregory Eaton and his wife Diana of Billerica. He leaves 13 grandchildren, Karlene Farley, Matthew Eaton, Jonathon Eaton, Christopher Eaton, Melissa Eaton, Erenn-Leigh Kosar, Jill Doyle, Scott Rynkowski, Jessica Eaton, Kelsey Donahue, Taylor Eaton, Greg Traquair, and Michael G. Eaton. He also survived by his brother Donald and two sisters, Frances and June. He is predeceased by a sister, Rita and four brothers, Leslie, Edward, Perry, and Lawrence. EATON- Of Billerica, Aug. 31, Ralph “Harold” Eaton. Visiting hours will be held Monday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 5-8 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Rd, Wilton, NH 03086 or to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St, Lawrence, MA 01843. Interment will be private at a later date.
