Peter F. Connolly – Age 89, beloved husband of Emma M. (Colandreo) Connolly died Wednesday, November 6 at the Lowell General Hospital with his family at his side.
He was born in Portland, Maine, July 8, 1935, a son of the late Peter J. and Mary (Folan) Connolly and was raised in Boston before moving to Brighton and later moved to Billerica in 1972. Peter proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Peter was employed as a High Lift Operator having worked for Alliant Food Services before his retirement. He was an active communicant of the former St. Mary Church in Billerica acting as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector at the church.
Besides his wife, Peter is survived by his daughters, Christine Morgan and her husband Michael of York, ME, Therese Tedford and her husband Robert of Billerica and Lisa Hughes and her husband Jeffrey also of Billerica; his son, Peter Connolly and his wife Sue of Peabody; his brother, Francis Connolly of Reading and is also survived by his ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Martin Connolly, Fr. John Connolly, Mary Goulding, Sally Candelieri, Anne Cooper and Kathleen Barbati.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Nov. 10 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 1-4 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Andrew Church, Talbot Ave., N. Billerica at 10 a.m. His burial with military honors will be held at the Fox Hill Cemetery in Billerica.
