Obituary for Patsylee M. Brien
Patsylee M. Brien, age 82, beloved mother of three devoted children and grandmother of two died peacefully on April 5, 2022 at her long-time home in Billerica with her family at her side. Patsy is predeceased by her husband, Frederick E. Brien.
She was born in Woburn, MA in 1939, daughter of the late Samuel and Teresa Lombard (Moccia). Patsy was raised in Woburn, graduated from Woburn High School in 1956, and moved to Billerica 59 years ago.
Patsy is survived by her children and grandchildren, Darryl Brien of Billerica and his children, daughter Jessa Brien of Billerica, and son Samuel Brien of Chelmsford; her daughter, Nicole D’Auteuil of Billerica; and son Gary Brien of Plymouth, MA; her sisters, Helen Sherburne of Woburn and Rita Owen of Wakefield. Patsy is also survived by her beloved canine, Roxy. Until very close to the time of her passing, Patsy maintained a loving household that was always well-stocked with her Italian food and lively with family. She took great joy in cooking meals for her children and grandchildren. Patsy was a true blue mother, grandmother, and friend. Early in life, she was employed by The Mitre Corporation and later by Filene’s for over 20 years.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, April 7 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. Funeral arrangements will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Patsylee’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org
