Obituary for Patrick R. Corbett
Patrick Ryan Corbett, age 39, beloved husband of Lauren E. (Spencer) Corbett passed away peacefully Tuesday at Massachusetts General Hospital after a three year battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma, with his wife by his side.
He was born in Winchester, November 4, 1982 a son of Kevin and Brenda (Ryan) Corbett of Acton, ME and lived in Lowell before moving to Billerica at the age of 9.
Patrick graduated from Billerica Memorial High School with the class of 2000. After high school he served in the United States Marine Corps. as part of the Global War on Terrorism during the Iraq War, attaining the rank of Corporal. Upon his discharge he became a Firefighter for the Town of Billerica and also worked as a Project Manager for NB&C.
He was an incredibly loving, caring, humble man whose gentle strength was admired by all. He was a nurturing and devoted husband and father. His wife and children were his greatest joys. He had a quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor. He was a member of several bowling and golf leagues, enjoyed coaching T-ball for his sons, and ice fishing trips with his family and friends. He also enjoyed taking road trips to some of his favorite craft breweries. Patrick loved watching his daughter dance and spent hours at hockey rinks and the baseball field watching his boys play. But, most important to him was spending time with his wife and children at their family’s farm in Maine.
Besides his wife and parents he is survived by his cherished children, Reid, William, Faye and Niall all of Billerica; he is also survived by his loving brothers Darren Corbett of Billerica, Sean Corbett and his wife Jenifer of Norfolk, VA, Kevin Corbett Jr. and his wife Kristin of Merrimack, NH, Joseph Corbett of Portland, ME, his beloved extended family William and Donna Spencer of Billerica, MA, Evan and Courtney Spencer of Billerica, MA, and Robin and Carl Herrmann of Billerica, MA, as well as his many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, November 20, at the Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited, Immediately following there will be a Celebration of Life at Swanson Meadows, 216 Rangeway Rd, Billerica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for his children to “The Patrick Corbett Fund”, ℅ The Billerica Municipal Employees Credit Union, 365 Boston Rd #107, Billerica, MA 01821.
