
Patricia A. (Zankowski) Johnson, age 80, died Saturday Nov. 18 at the Bear Hill Nursing and Rehab Center in Stoneham after a period of declining health.
She was born in Boston, Sept. 15, 1943 a daughter of the late William and Mary (Ulaskevich) Zankowski and lived in West End of Boston and Jamaica Plain before moving to Billerica in 1972.
Patricia was employed at Boston Edison for several years before moving to a position in the Accounts Payable Dept. at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center where she would remain for over 20 years.
She was known for her seamstress skills always ready to hem, repair or adjust for her family and anyone else that needed assistance even on short notice.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Laundry and her husband Ralph of Billerica and Margery Johnson-Champy and her husband Edward Champy of Lynnfield; one brother, William Zankowski and his wife Anne of Mansfield; one sister, Paula McCusker of Farmington, ME; her former husband William “Lefty” Johnson as well as her 5 beloved grandchildren, Drew, Derek and Danielle Laundry and Vanessa and Matthew Champy.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Interment at Forest Hills Cemetery will be held privately and at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may made to the Michael J.
