Obituary for Patricia A. Brown
Patricia A. Brown – Age 84 – wife of the late Sheldon Brown died Wednesday at Care One at Wilmington surrounded by her family.
She was born in Lynn, April 28, 1934, a daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Ryan) Halloran.
Patricia was raised in Lynn, Massachusetts. A Roman Catholic, Patricia attended Ste. Chretienne’s Academy in Salem, MA where she graduated in 1952. She graduated from Catherine Laboure School of Nursing in South Boston in 1955. Patricia also graduated from the Tewksbury Hospital School of Nursing. Patricia received her Certificate of Nursing Home Administration from Babson College, Waltham, MA. Patricia was the Administrator of Saugus Hill Nursing Home in Saugus, MA and on the Board of Directors of Mystic Valley Mental Health Center, Arlington, MA. Patricia was a brilliant nurse and her care giving skills were unmatched. Her passion for the elderly knew no bounds, and while she held many nursing positions she specialized in Geriatric Nursing. She fought hard for the rights of the elderly and those with mental illness. She was selfless and an excellent role model for those less fortunate.
In Patricia’s spare time and in her later years she loved crafting and was skilled at making porcelain dolls, flower arranging, ceramics and she never met a glue gun she did not like. Of all these interests “Grammy” loved her grandchildren “more than all the tea in China”.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Dawes Smith of AL, Cheryl Siciliano and her husband Charles of Billerica, Janine Marie Brown and her husband Steven of Port Charlotte, FL, Arthur S. Morris and his wife Debbie of Wakefield, Mariala Morris of Boston and Lorraine Mildred Lundblad and her husband Scott of Port Charlotte, FL; her grandchildren, Samuel Ezell Dawes and Jacob Halloran Dawes, Pescadero, CA, Sheena Marie Jones, Wilmington, MA, Victoria Siciliano, Somerville, MA, Steven William Brown (deceased), Stephanie Marie Brown, Port Charlotte, FL, Rhiannon Nicole Morris, New Port Richey, FL, Ashley Megan Morris, Woburn, MA, Amanda Leigh Goracke, North Port, FL, Scott Andrew Lundblad, Ft. Myers, FL, Dylan Sheldon Lundblad, Port Charlotte, FL and her great grandchildren: Alexis, Layla and Harper; her siblings, Peter Halloran of Chelsea, Thomas Halloran of Port Charlotte, FL, Mary Lou Danehy of Englewood, FL and Philip Halloran of Malden and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was the sister of the late Paul Halloran.
A Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Patricia’s life long charity, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital @stjude.org
