Olga S. Diaz – Age 100, wife of the late Agustin E. Diaz died Monday, November 28 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, April 8, 1922, a daughter of the late Felix de Santiago and Eduvigis Perez Garcia. She lived in Puerto Rico, New York, and Guatemala, before residing in several towns in Mass including Billerica and Burlington.
Olga graduated with Honors from University of Puerto Rico with a degree in Education. While in Puerto Rico she worked primarily as an English teacher, and then held roles within the Department of Labor. Her career focused on job employment and development of youth.
She is survived by her children, Ivette & Ivan Manrique of Raynham, Bonnie Diaz-Torres & Wilson Torres of Burlington, and Michelle Diaz-Collins of Haverhill, her sisters, Dr. Aida Santiago-Perez and Evelyn Santiago-Santiago of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and is also survived by grandchildren Agustin & Kim Manrique, Eduardo Manrique, Olga Torres & Greg Hopkins, Lisette & Nick Miller, Heidi Torres Smith & Matt Smith, Johanna & Kevin Enwright, Michiko Collins, Quentin Collins, and Trevor Collins and honored by great grandchildren Mariela Hopkins, Liam Smith, Natalia Smith, Kaia Manrique, Rosalyn Miller, Alora Manrique, Ruby Smith, Lucia Miller, Gabriella Enwright, Viviana Miller, and Charles Enwright.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Dec. 10 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church at 10 a.m.
Olga truly loved gathering with her friends and family, therefore the family would like that instead of sending no flowers or donations - that you do your best to join us. The presence of friends and family as we remember her smile and charm is a real pleasure and gift.
