
Obituary for Nicholas W. Barretto
LOWELL – Nicholas W. Barretto, age 53, husband of Laurel (Matthews) Barretto passed away peacefully on Friday, September 10, 2021, at Lowell General Hospital– Main Campus after a long illness.
He was born in Stoneham, January 12, 1968 a son of the late John R. and Mary R. (Connor) Barretto and lived in Andover before moving to Lowell 10 years ago.
Nick loved anything involving cars and watching old movies, especially ones starring Elvis and enjoyed spending time with his children.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Paul and Ashley Barretto both of Lowell; his siblings, Phyllis Cuddy and her companion Joseph Grenier of Stoneham, John Barretto and his wife Kathy of Hull, Robert Barretto and his wife Annie of Braintree, Grace DiLemme and her husband Robert of Billerica and Lisa Cortese and her husband Louis of Billerica as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the father of the late John and Josh Barretto.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. with a Prayer Service to be held at 6:45 p.m. Masks will be required while indoors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. All other services will be held privately and at the convenience of his family.
