Obituary for Nancy R. Dagle
Nancy R. (Dempsey) Dagle, 88, a lifelong resident of Billerica, MA died April 4, 2021 after a brief illness.
Nancy was the daughter of the late Stanley Dempsey and the late Gladys (Butler) Dempsey. She spent her entire life in the Pinehurst section of Billerica, graduating from Howe High School in 1950.

Nancy devoted her life to caring for her family as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was quick to smile and was a natural with children, having raised eight of her own. She worked for the Town of Billerica for over 30 years culminating in her retirement from the Billerica Police Department in 2007. She was an original organizer of the Billerica Early Assistance Model (BEAM).

Nancy loved her Catholic faith frequently volunteering at St. Mary’s Church in Pinehurst. Later, she volunteered in the Billerica Food Pantry. She loved quilting and made small quilts for newborns of family and friends.

Nancy is survived by her four sons: Stephen Dagle and his wife Jean of Beverly, Patrick Dagle and his wife Beth of Leominster, Andrew Dagle and his wife Esther of Winchester, and Michael Dagle and his wife Kristen of Groton; and her two daughters, Debra Dagle of Groton, and Diane O’Connor and her husband Dan of Florida. She leaves many grandchildren and a great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred, her daughters Donna Hyman and Jean Dagle. Nancy is also survived by two sisters Polly Mahoney of Plum Island and Jane Kennedy of Billerica and two brothers, Jack Dempsey of Cape Cod, and Donald Dempsey of Newburyport. She is also survived by a long time neighborhood friend, Lois Spencer.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Mary Church, 796 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10:00 a.m. Per current CDC and State Guidelines face coverings will be required at all venues and attendees must sign up to attend the Funeral Mass at https://cli.re/ccb-funeral-signup Memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org Burial will take place at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
