Obituary for Monica M. Skerry
Monica M. Skerry of FL, formerly of Newton went home to our Lord on August 18th, 2021. Born in Boston, Monica earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Framingham State College, Magna Cum Laude, while maintaining a household of 5 young children. In the 80’s Monica became the manager of an 80-unit apartment complex called Cherry Hill Apartments. Monica was recognized in the Who’s Who of Female Entrepreneurs. She was a Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. Beloved wife of the late William Skerry. Monica leaves her adoring children and their spouses: William Jr. & Mindy, Donald & Linda, Alicia & Dec, Michelle & Neal, Jonathan & Patty; her 10 beloved grandchildren: Michael, Amber, Trevor, Carson, Mathew, James, Jonny, Jillian, Brenna, and Thomas. Monica was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Rose Charlton, & Ann McHale. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 24th from 8:30 – 9:30am at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd. Billerica. A Funeral Mass will be held right after at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m.
The funeral procession will immediately proceed to the burial site at Saint Joseph’s in West Roxbury after the Funeral Mass in Billerica.
