Mike Powderly – age 79, beloved husband of Dinah (Lavery) Powderly died peacefully Tuesday, September 2 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
He was born in Lowell, November 19, 1945, a son of the late Kenneth J. Powderly Sr. and Edith M. (Tintle) Powderly and lived in Billerica his entire life. Mike proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a plumber and carpenter for many years and later worked in the Waste Water Department for the Town of Billerica for 28 years and retired in 2020.
Besides his wife, Mike is survived by his children, Maura Walsh of Billerica, Michael Powderly and his wife Candace of Woburn and William Powderly and his wife Alana of Nashua, NH; his grandchildren, Kaylee, Keira, Max, Jaxson, Brody and Brooke. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters and their families.
Mike’s funeral arrangements will be private and memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org
