Obituary for Michael S. McCarthy
CHELMSFORD – Michael S. McCarthy, age 51, husband of Suellen (Hudson) McCarthy died peacefully Friday at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Lowell, November 3, 1961 a son of the late Timothy J. Jr. and Estelle M. (Hunt) McCarthy and lived in Billerica most of his life before moving to Chelmsford 15 years ago. Mr. McCarthy was a grocery manager for Stop and Shop for 35 years, a member of the Billerica Rod and Gun Club an avid fisherman, he loved the ocean and camping but will be best remembered as being extremely funny. Besides his wife he is survived by one stepson, Nicholas Goodwin of Concord, NH; one stepdaughter, Heather Goodwin of Londonderry, NH; four brothers James McCarthy and his wife Donna of Lowell, William McCarthy and his wife Denise of Nottingham, NH, Joseph McCarthy and his wife Kathy of Billerica and Paul McCarthy and his wife Beth of Hudson, NH; three sisters, Catherine Tsagaris and her husband Basil of Chicopee, Mary DelTergo and her husband Brian of Fitchburg and Elizabeth McCormack and her husband Donald of Billerica as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was also the brother of the late Timothy McCarthy III. MCCARTHY – Of Chelmsford, formerly of Billerica, April 19, Michael S. McCarthy. Funeral Tuesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Andrew Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4 – 7 p.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica Funeral Directors W. J. and Dean M. Laurendeau In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Division of Nephrology, Tufts Medical Center #391, 800 Washington St., Boston, MA 02111
