Megan DaSilva Burke – age 37, beloved wife of Simmie J. Burke died peacefully Monday, October 16th, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Limestone, ME, the daughter of Ralph and Susan (Medeiros) DaSilva of Billerica and lived in Billerica for most of her life.
Megan was a graduate of Shawsheen Valley Technical High School, Class of 2005, and was active with her two sons in hockey. Being a dedicated hockey-mom filled her life with pride and joy.
Besides her husband and parents, Megan is survived by her sons, Derek and Caiden Burke of Billerica, her brothers Lorenzo Rausch of NY, Christopher Martone of MS and Scott DaSilva of FL; her sisters Rosemarie DaSilva-Marinaccio of Lincoln, Heidi Kulon of FL and Gretchen Coates of Bedford. Megan is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday, October 19 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 3-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 20 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Her burial will take place at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
