Mary T. (Murray) Shea, age 89, beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Shea Sr. died Wednesday at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley after a period of declining health.
She was born in Medford, October 3, 1934 a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Van Gehoven) Murray and lived in Medford before moving to Billerica 70 years ago and worked in the Accounting Office at BASF in Bedford for 19 years.
Mary had the kindest soul, yet was a very strong woman. There was not one thing she could not do. If you were lucky enough to have tasted Mary’s cooking and baking, you knew she was the best around. She loved being outdoors and tending to her flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed camping trips with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed her yearly trips to York Beach to visit her best friend Priscilla while she was enjoying the beach with her grandchildren. There was not a craft fair or flea market she ever missed. The twinkle in her eyes and the softness of her voice was seen and heard in her final days.
She is survived by three sons, Joseph Shea Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Danvers, Michael Shea and Shawn Shea and his wife Lizabeth both of Billerica; two grandchildren Danielle Dolan and her husband John and Shawn Francis Shea Jr. and his partner Adrian as well as her three great-grandchildren, Kenadie, Cameron and Shea. She was the sister of the late Thomas Murray and Marie Verrier
