Mary T. (Hynes) Rogers, age 81, beloved wife of John F. Rogers Sr., passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at The Brentwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Danvers, MA after a battle with dementia.
Mary was born in Boston, MA, on May 27, 1944, the daughter of Francis X. and Mary T. (Meehan) Hynes. She spent her early years living in Charlestown, MA, before moving to Billerica, MA, over sixty years ago.
Mary's life exemplified love, family, and community. After graduating from Howe High School, she married John in 1963. She worked at Polaroid Corporation for many years until an accident led to early retirement, allowing her to dedicate herself to her family.
Mary cherished family time, beaming with pride at every event and milestone, offering unwavering love and encouragement even if she could not physically be there.
Her deep community commitment extended to youth sports. She served on the boards of Billerica Youth Soccer and Middlesex Youth Soccer for decades, leaving an indelible mark on young athletes and families. Mary was a true champion for youth development and a cornerstone of local sports.
Mary was predeceased by her son, John F. Rogers, Jr., and her parents Francis X. and Mary T. (Meehan) Hynes. Besides her husband, Mary is survived by one daughter, Catherine T. Rogers of Boston, MA; three sons, Michael J. Rogers and his wife Reneé (Garneau) of Billerica, MA, Kevin G. Rogers of Arlington, MA, and Brian P. Rogers and his fiancée Sonia Plumer of Billerica, MA, two sisters, Dorothy (Hynes) Witham of Windham, NH and Eileen (Hynes) Parks of Key West, FL; five brothers, Francis Hynes of Windham, NH, Richard Hynes of Vero Beach, FL, William Hynes of Billerica, MA, John Hynes of Old Orchard Beach, ME and Robert Hynes of Billerica, MA as well as her six beloved grandchildren, Derek J. Rogers and his fiancé Brian A. Loendorf, Dylan L. Rogers, John (Jack) R. Rogers and his fiancée Summer Kelley , Jordan M. Rogers, Kevin G. Rogers, Jr., and Christina R. Rogers.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd. Billerica, MA at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica, MA.
