Mary (Coronella) Lattanzi of Billerica, passed away peacefully, at the home of her daughter, on March 25, 2025 at the age of 102.
Mary was born over a century ago, on February 27, 1923. She was the sweetheart and loving wife of the late Joseph Lattanzi, who died in 1990.
Family was the center of Mary’s life. As the eldest daughter of Italian immigrants, growing up in the Westend of Boston, she had to leave high school to take on the responsibility of caring for her ailing mother and helping with her six siblings while their father worked to support the family. Caring for family was what she did best, as she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.
She will be greatly missed by her three children, Celeste Jacobson, Nicholas Lattanzi and Carol Wemmitt, all of Billerica.
Her six grandchildren, Amanda, Gordon, Jason, Stephanie, Kerri and Joe, her four great grand-children, Nola, Ryan, Otto and Tessa and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her five brothers as one sister.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 28, at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
