Obituary for Mary J. Howell
Mary J. Howell – Age 94, wife of the late George Howell died Wednesday at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley. She was born in Cambridge, December 30, 1918, the daughter of the late Dennis and Nellie (O’Connor) Shine. She was raised in N. Cambridge and was a graduate of St. John’s High School in N. Cambridge. She later lived in Somerville before moving to Billerica 52 years ago. She worked as a Payroll Clerk for the former Lowell Shoe Company. Mrs. Howell is survived by her daughter, Gail C. Jackson of Billerica; her son, Dennis W. Howell and his wife Yan of GA; her grandchildren, Lee Devereaux Haschig, Lisa Devereaux Jackson, Lynne Devereaux Karagianes, John “Jay” Devereaux and Samantha Howell; her great grandchildren, Kevin, Morgan, Emily, Kalli, Elena, Katherine, John Michael, Parker, Mia, John, Leah and Joseph; one great grandson, Alex and her dear friends the Geary Family of Billerica. HOWELL – Of Billerica, Nov. 13, Mary J. (Shine) Howell, Funeral Monday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the Salvation Army, 150 Appleton St., Lowell, MA 01852. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
