Obituary for Mary E. McGrath
LOWELL – Mary E. McGrath, age 93, died Thursday at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Lowell. She was born in Everett, November 1, 1920 a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Sampson) McGrath and grew up in Everett and lived in Billerica before moving Farmington, ME for 30 years and most recently Lowell She was a Chief Telephone operator for New England Telephone for 30 years. Ms. McGrath is survived by her nieces and nephews, Susan Strunk of Lowell, Alan Wilson of CA, Christopher Felch of VA, Linda Felch of TX and Darrell Penny of Burlington. Her best friend Sarah Makinen of Farmington, ME, good friends Tery and Desiree Caudell, several great-nieces and great-nephews as well as her beloved cat Jade. She was the sister of the late Mildred McGrath and Eileen Penny, aunt of the late Steven and Todd Penny and sister-in-law of the late Harold Penny. Funeral Monday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 11:30 a.m. A Graveside service will be held at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica at 12:30 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
