Obituary for Mary Ann Ingersoll

Mary Ann (Zell) Ingersoll, age 68, beloved wife of Arthur J. Ingersoll died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 23rd at Lowell General Hospital.


She was born in Somerville, June 1, 1954 a daughter of the late Edward and Genevieve (Doucette) Zell and lived in Lynn before moving to Tewksbury 20 years ago.


Mary worked many years as an operator for MaBell/AT&T and was active in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America as well as the East Lynn Little league when her boys were younger. She was known to be an avid baker who loved going to the ocean and the beach and Always loved a good cookout with all family and friends. But most important to her was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.


She is survived by her husband Arthur of 39 years and by two sons, Jason Taflinger and his husband Rob of Ft Lauderdale, Fl, Chris Ingersoll and his wife Katie of Marblehead, MA, and additionally Richard Coddington & Ro Pouk whom she also considered to be her sons; Mary’s siblings: brother Robert Zell (previously deceased), brother Michael Zell and his wife Jackie of Saugus, MA, sister, Nancy Wrona and her husband Stan of NY; as well as her five beloved grandchildren, Jordyn, Emma, Alice, Charlie and Jack. As well as many dearly loved nieces and nephews.


Visiting hour will be held Saturday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica  from 1 – 4 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 3:45 p.m. All other services will be held privately and at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes’s Association.
