Mary A. (Donahue) Nickerson, age 77, beloved wife of the late Donald A. Nickerson, died Monday at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Somerville, August 16, 1945 a daughter of the late Leo and Mary (Wood) Donahue and lived in Somerville before moving to Billerica 65 years ago.
Mary was the owner and operator of her own housecleaning business and in her spare time she enjoyed gardening and decorating her home for the holidays. Most important to her was spending time with her family especially her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons Jason Nickerson of Billerica and Joseph Nickerson and his wife Jessica of Hampton, NH; one daughter, Lisa Gray of Reading and her beloved grandchildren. Joshua Gray and Lily Mae Nickerson.
Visiting hours will be held Friday April 21, at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday in St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute www.dana-farber.org
