Obituary for Mary E. Gately
Mary E. Gately – Age 95, wife of the late John L. Gately died Saturday at the D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell.

She was born in Boston, March 30, 1926, a daughter of the late James and Nora (Downey) Gaynor, she was the oldest of five children and lived in Burlington and N. Chelmsford before moving to Billerica 18 years ago.

Mary was employed at the former Hybrid Systems in Burlington for over 25 years before her retirement.

She is survived by her son, Paul Gately of Foxborough; her daughters, Joanne Oliver and her husband George of Nashua, NH, Carol Campbell of Medford and Marybeth Hanafin and her partner Joe Sousa of Billerica. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Lisa, Craig, Jeff, Erin, Liz, James, Jonathan and Patrick as well as nine great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Wednesday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd.,
Billerica from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Veronica Parish at St. Malachy Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington, at 12 Noon. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org. Burial in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
