Obituary for Martin C. Kennedy Jr.
Martin C. Kennedy Jr. – Age 89, beloved husband of Susan A. (Corkum) Kennedy died Thursday, April 1 at the Lahey Hospital in Burlington surrounded by his family.
He was born in Lowell, a son of the late Martin C. Kennedy Sr. and Helen (King) Kennedy and was raised in Lowell before moving to Billerica in 1964. Martin proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was employed at Raytheon in Bedford for 35 years prior to his retirement and was a communicant of St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Andrew Church in N. Billerica.
Besides his wife, Martin is survived by his sons, Daniel Kennedy of Gloucester and Jason Kennedy and his wife Karen of Nashua, NH; his daughter, Elizabeth Kelly and her husband Brian of Billerica; his brother, Thomas Kennedy of Dover, NH and his three grandchildren, Laura, Brooke and Grace Kennedy and his step grandsons, John and Nicholas Giasullo. He was the brother of the late Gerald and William Kennedy.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 16 at St. Patrick Cemetery, 1251 Gorham St., Lowell at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorpoject.org
