Obituary for Martha DeWallace
DeWallace, MARTHA (CIAVARDONE) - Of Billerica, formerly of Waltham, Beloved wife of Eric DeWallace, was a devoted mother of three daughters, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 8 surrounded by her loving family. Prior to her retirement, Martha worked as an executive secretary employed at MCC Powers in Waltham, then with Elliot Mental Health Services in Concord, MA. Martha enjoyed spending time with her family vacationing on the beaches of New England. Martha had a love and passion for antiques and collectibles. She enjoyed shopping at the bustling flea markets with her husband Eric and her three daughters. Martha was an avid reader, a master at crossword puzzles, and a political activist- she volunteered on the local and national political scene. She and her husband Eric travelled to Washington D.C. for important events from time to time. At home, Martha enjoyed the views of their beautiful garden, the visiting birds, and man-made pond in the summertime, or the view of the historic Concord River from their front steps. She adored babies, and was a proud Grandmother and Great Grandmother, giving encouraging words of wisdom to all in her family. Martha is survived by her husband Eric DeWallace, President of Boston Aircontrols, Inc. and three daughters and their spouses, Kimberly and her late husband Stephen Bertrand of Billerica, Kerri Ann Ferri and her husband John of Chelmsford and Kristine O’Connell and her husband Michael of Billerica. She leaves a sister, Barbara Ryan of Mashpee. Grandmother of Katie Tirone, Dane Bertrand, Jill Ferri, Nicholas Ferri, Daniel Ferri and Michael O’Connell. Great-grandmother of Eric, Mason and Cole Tirone and Ella Rose Ferri. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd. Billerica at 9:00AM Tuesday. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4 – 7PM at Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd. Billerica. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 150 Appleton St., Lowell, MA 01852
