Obituary for Marjorie A. Montague

Marjorie A. Montague passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 surrounded by her children.


Marge was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Gallison) Sullivan, born on March 2, 1931 and was raised in Cambridge, MA. She was predeceased by her loving husband George Montague and her brother John Sullivan. Marge is survived by her children, George Montague III and his wife Vivian Montague of Billerica, Karen Montague and her husband Brian O’Leary of IL, Mary Montague and her husband William Hurley of Needham, Lynne Montague of Beverly, her brother Paul Sullivan and his wife Patricia of Wilmington and her grandson Joshua Montague.


While Marge was raised in Cambridge, she spent the early years of marriage in Arlington before moving to Billerica, where she raised her family and continued to live until her death. Marjorie loved life with her family and friends. In addition to being an incredible spouse and Mother, she enjoyed sewing, ceramics, cake decorating and gardening. She was active in the community as a leader of a group of Campfire girls for years. After raising her family Marge joined the outside workforce and was employed in the print room at BTU in Billerica. After retirement, she enjoyed local travel and adventures with family and friends.

A viewing will be held Monday, Oct. 21st 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at Sweeny Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica after which a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Her burial will take place at the Fox Hill Cemetery in Billerica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie’s name to The Jimmy Fund.
