Marilyn Sullivan – Age 96, beloved wife for 65 years of the late William A. Sullivan Jr., died Sunday at her home with family at her side.
She was born in Framingham, November 17, 1927, a daughter of the late George and Kathryn (Bradford) Strom. Marilyn attended school in Somerville and lived in Billerica for 79 years.
Marilyn was a faithful congregant of St. Theresa Church and was a housekeeper at the rectory for many years. She was an active member of St. Theresa Sodality, and later the Women’s Club of St Theresa Church, participating in all facets of the club. She joined the Billerica Friends of Music to support her childrens’ artistic and educational pursuits and enjoyed being one of the Sew and Sews, making costumes for the Billerica Memorial High School musicals. Marilyn also supported the Friends of the Billerica Library.
She is survived by her children, William Sullivan III and his wife Sandra of Raynham, Claire MacKenzie and her husband Ron of Billerica, Martha Kuszek and her husband Robert of Brooklyn, NY, Suzanne Sullivan of North Chelmsford, and Timothy Sullivan and his wife Alison of Acton; her brother, John Strom of Ansonia, CT and her sister, Donna Robillard of Chelmsford. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bill Mills and his wife Gail, Heather and Sara MacKenzie, Alessandro Kuszek, David, Patrick, Daniel, and Gray Almeida, Emily and Abigail Sullivan, and her cherished great-grandchildren, Collin Mills and Ayva MacKenzie. Marilyn will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 3-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10:00 a.m. Her burial will take place at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Theresa Church, One Grace Ave., Billerica, MA 01821 or the charity of your choosing.
