Marilyn R. McKay – age 87, passed on Monday, March 25. She was receiving care at the Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton.
She was born in Somerville, Massachusetts on December 10, 1936, daughter of the late Clarence and Mary L. (Hartshorn) Hamilton, better known as Grammy and Grampy Lou. She later moved to Billerica, where she lived the remainder of her life.
For many years, Marilyn happily stayed home to raise her eight children and later worked with her daughters at Shear Art Hair Salon in Billerica for 25 years.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Donna Cashin and her husband Robert of Billerica, Lisa Kennedy and her husband Dr. Robert Kennedy of Billerica, Wendy Murray and her husband David of Billerica, Gary McKay and his wife Debi of Billerica and Norman McKay of NH and is also survived by her 16 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was the former wife of the late Norman McKay, mother of the late Robert McKay, Suzanne Bowden and Kristie Duby and sister of the late Donald Hamilton.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 30 at the Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica at 12:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org
