Marilyn C. (Carberry) Smith - Age 89 of Burlington, MA passed away July 25, 2021. Beloved wife of 67 years of James F. Smith. Devoted mother of Todd H. Smith and partner Debora Cunningham of Rochester, NH; and Kimberly Tsatsarones and husband Costa of Burlington. Cherished grandmother of Jaclyn and Nicole Tsatsarones of Burlington.
Daughter of the late Charles and Marjorie (Parker) Carberry, she was raised in Dover, NH and was a 1948 graduate of Dover High. Inspired by her father's successful surgeries Marilyn chose nursing as her calling and in 1951 graduated from Wentworth Douglas Hospital's nursing program. She joined the staff of the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital as an RN, beginning a 50 year career in medicine. Visitation will be held at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd, Billerica Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a Graveside Service at Edson Cemetery, 1375 Gorham St., Lowell at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MSPCA-Angell Pet Care Assistance program.
