Obituary for Marianne E. Loranger

Marianne Elizabeth (Pierce) Loranger, of NH, formerly of North Billerica, Jan. 8, age 80, after a brief illness.
Marianne was born in Peabody, MA on April 7, 1936 and was raised in Danvers. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Alice (Condon) Pierce. Marianne graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School of Beverly (Class of 1954) and Merrimack College of Andover (Class of 1958) where she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Loranger. She and Bob were blessed to be married for 52 years, until his death on January 1, 2012.
Following graduation from Merrimack College, she worked as a Lab Technician with Newton-Wellesley and Choate Hospitals, then soon married Bob and moved to North Billerica, where they lived for over 40 years and raised their family. Marianne was a teacher at the Faulkner Kindergarten in N. Billerica for over 20 years. Upon retirement, she and Bob moved to Sanbornton, NH where they enjoyed all that New Hampshire had to offer, including boating on Lake Winnisquam, golfing at Lake View and Den Brae Golf Clubs, and snowmobiling in Pittsburg, NH. She also bowled with the St. Andrew’s Sodality league for many years and enjoyed crocheting, reading, watching the Red Sox and Bruins, and traveling with Bob. She was a communicant of St. Andrew’s Church, N. Billerica and St. Andre Bessette Parish (Sacred Heart Church), Laconia, NH.
She was the loving mother of 4 children: Robert, Jr. and his wife Kathleen, and Philip and his wife Annemarie of N. Billerica; and Margaret Sweeney and her husband Douglas, and William and his wife Victoria of New Hampshire; Beloved Nana of 11 Grandchildren: Kerri, Robert III, Andrew, Ryan, Philip, Kayleigh, Danielle, Billy, Michelle, Stephen and Kathryn; cherished sister of John Pierce of N. Andover and Carol McKenzie of Danvers and Florida, and sister-in-law of Richard Loranger of Dracut and Margaret Metivier of N. Billerica. She was the dear aunt of many nieces and nephews and fortunate to have many long-time friends. She is also predeceased by her brothers, George “Skip” Pierce, Francis Pierce, Robert Piecewicz and her sister, Marguerite Snell.
