Angela Nunez Jewett
BILLERICA - Maria Angela Morera Nunez Jewett passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025 surrounded by her family. Angela lived a strong Catholic faith that carried her through her 97 years of life. Born in Costa Rica on May 24, 1927, she was raised by the Sisters of the Maria Auxiliadora Convent and Sister Maria Romero in Costa Rica. Angela left the convent at the age of 21 to marry Jose Francisco Nunez (Chico), also of Costa Rica. They immigrated to America where they raised their eight children. Four years after arriving, Angela lost her husband Jose Francisco to cancer. To support herself and her children she worked as a seamstress and later became a hairdresser. After raising her children, Angela remarried in 1980 to Jameson H. Jewett (Jim) of Tuftonboro, New Hampshire. They made Farmington, New Hampshire their home where they lived happily for 28 years.
Angela loved socializing, family gatherings, traveling, snowmobiling, and telling stories of her life. She loved Spanish folk and mariachi music, and had many favorite American songs. She loved playing rummy and Uno with her grandchildren, fishing at the Cape Cod canal, making tamales for her family every Christmas, and bringing joy to anyone she interacted with. Angela’s beautiful accent and infectious laugh will be sorely missed by all those knew her.
She is survived by her loving children, Paul Nunez and his wife Aracely of Center Barnstead NH, John B. Nunez and his wife Amy of Easton MA, Mary Cushman and her husband W. Randall (Randy) of Billerica MA, Mario Nunez and his wife Christine of Standish ME, John Daniel Nunez and his wife Donna of Bellingham MA and Richard Nunez of Rochester NH; her cherished sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews, and siblings Angelica Digna Morera and America Morera.
