Obituary for Margaret Mary Lavoie

Margaret Mary Lavoie – age 87, wife of the late Frederick J. Lavoie died Monday, January 26 at the Lahey Hospital in Burlington with her family at her side.


She was born in Somerville, May 7, 1938, a daughter of the late Reid H. and Margaret M. (Vickers) Thurber and was raised in Somerville and lived in Billerica for over 60 years.


Margaret is survived by her children, Patricia Reppucci, Frederick Lavoie and Richard Lavoie all of Billerica, Deborah Sanborn and her husband Scott of Monmouth, ME, Michael Lavoie of Lowell and William Lavoie of Jamaica Plain; her brothers, Reid Thurber and his late wife Margaret of ME, Robert Thurber and George Thurber and his wife Norma of CT; her grandchildren, Bryan, Kyle, Lindsay, Nickolas and Noah, her great grandchildren, Jackson and Peyton and her German Shepherd Barron. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Raymond and his wife Delores Thurber.


A visitation will be held Saturday, January 31 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 10-11 a.m. with a prayer service at 11 a.m. Her burial will take place at the Fox Hill Cemetery in Billerica. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org
