Obituary for Margaret E. Gove-Gardiner
On August 24, 2019 our beloved mother, Margaret E. (Peggy) Gove-Gardiner (90) of South Berwick, ME, saw the face of God, and stepped into her loving Savior’s Arms, while surrounded by her daughters. She was predeceased by husbands Clifford L. Gardiner in 1991, and Harold T. Gove in 1978, her young daughter Margaret Mary (Peggy) in 1959 and first granddaughter Megan Marie Weightman in 1982. Margaret leaves behind her five daughters and sons-in-law; Dennis & Patricia (Gove) Weightman of South Berwick, ME, Peter & Pamela (Gove) Hartley of Spring Branch, TX, Gerard & Mary (Gove) Brown of Deering, NH, Marjorie (Gove) Cook of Methuen, MA and David Cook of Lawrence, MA, Katy (Gove) Littlefield of Wells, ME, and Joel Littlefield of North Berwick, ME; her beloved grandchildren; Sarah (Weightman) Delaney, Amy (Weightman) Marble, Emily (Weightman) Land, Derek Littlefield, Connor Littlefield, Mikaela Littlefield, Kira Littlefield, Brian Cook, Alan Cook, Samuel Cook, Lucille Cook; two precious great granddaughters; Grace Marble and Sabrina Turner, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was an active member of the South Berwick Community, including Our Lady of the Angels Parish and the South Berwick Public Library. She was a devout Christian, a generous woman who had a wonderful sense of humor, never met a stranger, and was very much loved. Margaret was an independent lady who loved to shop and enjoyed lunching out with her many friends and especially with her darling daughters. She will be dearly missed by all. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Beacon Hospice of Methuen, MA for their wonderful support during the care of our mother.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to take place on September 13, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 466 Boston Road, Billerica, MA.
Burial will take place immediately following services at Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Road, Billerica, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
