Obituary for Margaret A. Murphy
Margaret A. (McCarthy) Murphy – Age 78, beloved wife of James J. Murphy Sr. died Wednesday at Lowell General Hospital - Saints Campus.
She was born in Cambridge, March 21, 1939, a daughter of the late John J. and Marie (Bruno) McCarthy and lived in Cambridge before moving to Billerica in 1968.
Mrs. Murphy was employed in the administrative office of the Billerica School Department for 15 years prior to her retirement. She was an avid supporter of Billerica sports while her sons played.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Murphy is survived by her sons, James Murphy Jr. and his wife Kelly Jo of Billerica, Sean Murphy and his wife Kelly of Londonderry, NH and Colin Murphy and his wife Melissa of Billerica; her brother, Chester McCarthy of Cambridge; her sisters, Jane Renna of Billerica, Patricia Brady of Jensen Beach, FL and Helen VanNostrand and Kathleen McCarthy of The Villages, FL; grandmother of Caitlin, Sean Jr., Eoin, Aibhlin and Delia Murphy. She was the mother of the late Kim Murphy and sister of the late John McCarthy Jr.
MURPHY – Of Billerica, May 24, Margaret A. (McCarthy) Murphy, Funeral Saturday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
