Obituary for M. Virginia Rivers
Billerica—M. Virginia (Sousa) Rivers—Age 79, beloved wife of Robert E. Rivers, died at home Monday morning.
She was born in Arlington, December 9, 1938, was a daughter of the late Herbert and Mildred (Coffin) Sousa and lived in Billerica for 54 years.
Ginnie was a homemaker for her loving family her entire life. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren who lived in close proximity to her. There was never a time she was happier than when she was surrounded by family. She said herself: “All these years with so many friends and kids friends around us was the greatest thing ever!” Besides her family, which was the forefront of her life, Ginnie also enjoyed vacationing at Parkwood and York Beaches, and enjoying a glass of wine at the end of the day. There was nothing she loved more than being home with her husband, her “first and only true love”, Bob.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her two sons Robert Rivers, Jr. of York Beach, ME, Daniel Rivers of Billerica two daughters Kathleen Rivers of York Beach, ME, and Kim Scroxton of Billerica, one sister Judith Sousa of Wareham as well as 6 grandchildren, Daniel, Shelby, Olivia, Colleen, Emily and Julia, all of whom she loved dearly. Ginnie is predeceased by her wonderful son in law Bob Scroxton.
RIVERS—Of Billerica, Jan. 29, M. Virginia Rivers, A memorial visitation will be held Saturday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 2-5 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
