Lydie I. ‘Lydia’ Grace, age 87, died on Saturday, October 25, 2025 with her family by her side.
Born in Marseille, France on October 22, 1938, Lydia was a daughter of the late Missak and Araxie (Bogoshian) Kalousdian.
Upon arriving in Somerville, Massachusetts in 1958, Lydia lived with her parents and siblings – a home that would create cherished memories. Less than a decade later, she met her husband, Jack Grace. The two married on November 21, 1968 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Cambridge, MA. They soon began raising their three children, Denise, John, and Claudine on 88 Concord Rd in Billerica, MA. A home Lydia filled with love, fond memories, great food, and a lot of laughs. Her biggest hobby included hosting large holiday parties where declining an invitation was not an option. She effortlessly made a house feel like a home and will be missed dearly by all who love her.
Lydia is survived by her husband, Jack P. Grace; her children, Denise Senske and her husband Jack of Pennsylvania, John J. Grace and his wife Catherine of Lowell, and Claudine Grace and her partner Denzel Purville of Fitchburg. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Jean-Marc Kalousdian, Joseph Kalousdian, Jack Minassian, Gabrielle McGuiness, and Rose Antranigian.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 28th from 4-7p.m., in Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Road, Billerica. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to armeniafund.org.
