Obituary for Lydia L. Cappiello
Lydia L. Cappiello – Age 85, beloved wife of Robert D. Cappiello, passed peacefully on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Sunny Acres Nursing Center in Chelmsford.
She was born in Watertown, January 29, 1934, a daughter of the late Domenic O. and Mary C. (Appignani) Gigante and lived in Watertown and Somerville before moving to Billerica in 1990.
Mrs. Cappiello graduated from Watertown High School in 1952. She was artistically talented and enjoyed painting, creative sewing and crafts. She sewed many, many uniforms for the Annunicators, Cavalliers, and North Star Drum & Bugle Corps’. She retired from Bay Bank Harvard Trust in Arlington were she was a Clerk of Operations in the ATM and EFT Department. Most of all, Lydia loved her family dearly. She especially loved spending holiday dinners together, which were truly a blessing that she cherished.
Mrs. Cappiello is survived by her loving daughter, Karen (Cappiello) Dillard of Billerica; her sister, Elda Medeiros of Billerica and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Elena Gullotti and Romeo Gigante.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 9-10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Memorial contributions may be made in Lydia’s name to the Billerica Senior Center, 25 Concord Rd., Billerica, MA 01821. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Watertown.
