Louis A. Bellomo Jr. – Age 91, beloved husband of Katharine A. (Pfeiffer)(Coyle) Bellomo died Saturday, Feb. 18, at their home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Chelsea, December 13, 1931, a son of the late Louis A. and Alice (Allessandri) Bellomo and was raised in Chelsea, lived in Woburn before moving to Billerica 40 years ago. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Louis was employed as a Mechanical Engineer for Wang Laboratories prior to his retirement. Along with his family Louis enjoyed vacationing at their home in Salisbury Beach and Anna Maria Island, FL.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Jean Rao of Orange City, FL., Diane Henderson and her husband Don of Tewksbury, Robert Bellomo and his wife Charlene of Newport, NH, Thomas Bellomo and his wife Beth of Shirley, Thomas Coyle of Billerica, and Amy Connell and her husband Jeff of Billerica, and; his sister, Patricia Miles of Deltona, FL., and sister- in- law Dorothy Bellomo of Chelsea. Louis was affectionately known as Papa by his 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert and Albert Bellomo and Mary Lawlor.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Feb. 23 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Andrew Church, Talbot Ave., N. Billerica at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be held at Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, www.dav.org
