Obituary for Lois A. Ings
Billerica – Lois A. (Macaulay) Ings, age 86, wife of the late Edwin J. Ings, died Friday at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. She was born in Medford on October 26, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Mildred C. Macaulay. She has lived in Billerica for the past 64 years. Mrs. Ings was a former Crossing Guard for the Town of Billerica and was a member of the Fellowship Bible Church in Burlington and Grace Chapel in Lexington. She was known for her cross-country adventures with her husband and for their work in helping build and develop churches as a part of SOWER (Servants on Wheels Ever Ready). Till her last moments, she was a happy and witty woman who cared deeply for loved ones and put others needs above her own. She is survived by her daughter Karen Ernst, her son-in-law Lewis Ernst, and her grandson Jonathan Ernst of Billerica, with whom she resided for the last 17 years. She was so happy that she was able to be with Jonathan during his graduation from UMass Lowell this May, and she has always been proud of his success. She is also survived by her son, Robert Ings, and his wife Kathy of Billerica, and four additional grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Ings was the mother of the late Kenneth Ings. She adored her dog, Sunshine, who was her close companion. INGS – Of Billerica, June 6, Lois A. (Macaulay) Ings, Visiting hours will be held Thursday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Friday at the Fellowship Bible Church, 71 Center St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
