Obituary for Lionel C. 'Papa Lou' Barbarossa
BILLERICA – Lionel C. “Papa Lou” Barbarossa, age 74, beloved husband of Patricia (MacDonald) Barbarossa died Monday at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He was born in Miami, FL, May 10, 1938 the son of the late Lionel C. Sr. and Eleanore (Horeis) Barbarossa and lived in Randolph and Dorchester prior to moving to Billerica 41 years ago. Mr. Barbarossa owned and operated Billerica Seafood in Billerica and Papa Lou’s Card Shop in Wilmington before becoming the founder of Lou’s Custom Exhaust with franchise locations throughout New England. He was a member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks and a former member of the Knights of Columbus Fr. Wren Council in Billerica. Besides his wife he is survived by four sons, Lionel “Lee” Barbarossa III and his wife Cheryl of Dracut, Louis R. Barbarossa and his wife Carol of Billerica, Scott W. Barbarossa and his wife Erica of Windham, NH, and John B. Barbarossa and his wife Janet of Auburn, NH; three daughters, Eleanore Moore and her husband Michael of Dracut, Patricia Barbarossa Jr. of Billerica and Rachael Page and her husband Scott of Manchester, NH; 13 grandchildren, Lee Barbarossa IV, Kailene and William McInnis Jr., Kelsey, Nicholas and David Barbarossa, Victoria Barbarossa, Michael and Alison Moore, John, Annie and Jesse Barbarossa as well as his dear friends Paul “Skip” Williams and his wife Marie of Stoughton. He was also the grandfather of the late Eric Barbarossa. BARBAROSSA – Of Billerica, Sept. 17, Lionel C. “Papa Lou” Barbarossa. A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday September 22nd at the Tewksbury Country Club, Route 38, Tewksbury, MA from 11:00-2:00. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
